Tiger WoodsAccording to Tiger Woods, the venue for this month U.S. Open is “very challenging “. Woods inspected the venue after several officials from the USGA said that  Chambers Bay would require “extensive homework”.

He visited the site this Monday and Tuesday on his way to the Memorial tournament at the Muirfield Village Golf Club.

In a public statement, Woods said: “When Mike (Davis) says something like that, you got to pay attention to it, because he’s an extremely bright man and we got out there and it was like, ‘Oh, my God, there’s so many different options here’. It’s very challenging in the sense that Mike has so many options that he can present us as challenges off the tees or into the greens. There are so many different numbers that you have to know off the tees and how that’s going to play.”

His comments can be an indication of what players have to expect at this year’s Open: USGA executive director Mike Davies said that those who will only get a couple of practice rounds will likely have no chance of winning.
